You MUST call 9-1-1, whether it is for an emergency or not, for any and all calls for service or to speak with a police officer on duty.
The East Rochester Police Department operates as the Village’s Public Safety Department and serves the greater community of East Rochester 24 hours a day, 365 days each year providing around the clock protection for the citizens and property of the Village.
The ERPD consists of a Chief of Police, Lieutenant, 2 Sergeants, 4 Full-Time Officers, 6 Part-Time Officers, and a Full-Time and Part-Time Clerk.
The ERPD also provides a Traffic Officer assigned to the East Rochester School District, as well as full and part-time Crossing Guards.
The East Rochester Police Department is a New York State Accredited Police Agency.
Administrative offices for the ERPD are open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please call us at (585) 586-4399 with your general questions or for information pertaining to issues of a non-emergency nature, for copies of reports, or to speak with the Chief of Police.
During the winter, special parking rules and consderations are in effect. Winter presents a unique set of challenges, with snow removal being one of the most obvious ones. Please follow these rules, and help make winter a bit easier.
The East Rochester Police Department accepts out dated or unwanted medications, needles and pill bottles. Drop off dates are on the third Wednesday of each month, from 10 to 1, with no appointment needed.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, we need to have our vehicle towed, be it the result of an accident or just general failure. ERPD can assist you in arranging for towing services. Please see our towing rate schedule.
