ERPD accepts out dated or unwanted medications.
The East Rochester Police Department accepts pharmaceutical waste on the third Wednesday of each month between the hours of 10 am and 1 pm. No appointment is necessary.

May include: out dated or unwanted prescription or over the counter medications, needles, syringes or pill bottles.

Change in SHARPS Policy - 11/19/20

The East Rochester Police Department will longer be able to accept SHARPS for disposal.  Residents wishing to dispose of SHARPS are requested to use an alternate means for disposal.  NYS Law requires hospitals and nursing home facilities to accept sharps from residents free of charge. Some primary care physicians will also accept them from their patients.  Visit Ecopark’s website to access the NYS DOH’s website. Once there, you will be able to review a complete list of facilities that accept SHARPS for free in our area.

Pharmaceutical Drop Box

In an effort to better serve the community, we now have a pharmaceutical drop box available just outside of the police department offices. This drop box is for pills, capsules and tablets ONLY and will be available from 8:30 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

This drop box will NOT accept needles, liquids or ointments of any kind.

Call 585-586-4399 for additional information.
