The Assessor is the appointed assessment official who estimates the value of real property within the Town/Village of East Rochester. The Assessor's office is open daily Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. In addition, he sees residents by appointment.
The Assessor maintains the Town/Village's assessment roll, which lists assessments and exemptions. The Assessor approves and monitors property tax exemptions, including senior citizens exemptions, school tax relief exemptions (STAR), veterans, disability, and business exemptions.
The Assessor reviews every transfer of real property for accuracy, including the basic information on buyer, seller, and sale price. Properties are reviewed annually for changes, including permits for new construction, demolition, change of use, and market conditions.
Nick Morabito has been the sole appointed assessor in East Rochester since October 1988. He is a New York State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and a licensed Real Estate Broker & Realtor.
