Come on down and meet our team and see the facility.  Check out the vast library of books and resources.  Stop into the Office of Local History department and expore our past.

Celebration Ceremony

A formal ceremony is to be held to commemorate this historic day for East Rochester in the Jean Daniels Community Center.  The ceremony starts promptly at 12:00 pm.

Our Town/Village History

At 1:00 pm, the Office of Local History will give a guided tour throughout the Eyer Building discussing the formation and development of East Rochester.  Learn about the Village of Despatch, the largest shopping mall this side of the Mississippi and Fryatt's Department store.  Why is our little community known as the "The Home of Champions"?  Did you know there used to be a tunnel under the rail-road tracks for pedestrians?  Why is the Piano Works called the Piano Works?  And so many more questions will be answered.

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE 2024

April 8th, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

The Town/Village of East Rochester will be hosting a gathering event for the community to view the Solar Eclipse. Everyone is welcome to participate with us on the upper soccer fields of the East Rochester School District Campus.

The Rochester/Monroe County area is anticipating between 300 to 500 thousand people coming into our region.  The thruway roads will be closed and all of the hotels are booked!  So, with all that being said, plan to attend the event of the year that East Rochester will be hosting.

We have several vendors who will be selling food to the community including: Kona Ice, GG’s Pizza and St. Nicholas Society(Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Italian Sausage and beverages).

If your looking for glasses a limited supply(2 per family) will be available in the Library on a first come first served basis for East Rochester residents starting March 25th. Additional glasses may be available at the event.
