News from the Office of John R. Alfieri East Rochester Mayor
EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. – East Rochester Mayor John R. Alfieri and the Board of Trustees along with Monroe County Executive Adam Bello Announces a Coordinated Plan to Distribute Face Coverings to County Residents. Colleagues from Towns & Villages throughout Monroe County come together to partner on a new initiative to distribute face coverings to county residents. This plan is part of the County’s ongoing efforts to improve and protect the safety and wellbeing of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Working with city, town and village governments, Monroe County is coordinating the distribution of more than 1 million masks from the county’s stockpile to local residents. Monroe County’s acquisition of additional face coverings was made possible through a reimbursable expense covered under the federal CARES Act. “We have preached the importance of regularly washing or sanitizing your hands, maintaining a physical distance of at least six feet from others and wearing a face covering when out in public for nearly two months.
Through this effort, millions of face coverings will be distributed through municipal governments and community partners and will go to any resident who is interested or in need. “East Rochester residents have answered the call and helped to flatten our curve. But we must proceed with caution. Any lapse in social distancing, refusal to wear a face covering or other triggers could cause a spike, which we have worked so hard together to avoid. That is why we continue to recommend that out of an abundance of caution you continue to wear your face covering whenever you are out in public, regardless of the situation. Below is a list of all locations.
Be Safe, Stop the Spread and God Bless.
