Beginning August 1, 2015, older style televisions and computer monitors containing cathode ray tubes (CRT's) will no longer be accepted for drop off at the Town/Village of East Rochester Department of Public Works garage located at 200 Ontario Street.
To dispose of these items, you must bring them to an approved facility for drop off and there will be a charge for each CRT item. The DPW will no longer accept these items at their site.
If you place a CRT item at the curb it will be tagged with a violation sticker. If the item is still at the curb after one (1) day the DPW will then remove the CRT item and you will be charge a fee of $50.00 for each CRT item remaining.
All other forms of electronic waste other than CRT's may still be dropped off at the DPW Garage free of charge. Prior to dropping off allowable E-Waste, residents/commercial property owners must first check in at the DPW Office. Anyone dropping off unacceptable CRT items will be subject to fines based on the video surveillance cameras located on the property.
