Town/Village of East Rochester Response to Severe Weather Outage

East Rochester officials again participated on a conference call with RG&E and other municipal officials from the Monroe County Area.

Currently in the County 80,000 plus customers remain without power which includes 304 in East Rochester. The number one priority for crews is to continue to make the community safe. Restoration of power is underway. It still may be several days before customers here in town have power.

The United Methodist Church located at 357 Fairport Road has offered overnight shelter to anyone in need. They ask residents to bring their own bedding; clean restrooms and a full kitchen will be made available. Please note that they are not able to provide food or showers. Anyone in need of checking emails or charging phones can visit the Public Library located at 317 Main Street until 5:00 pm this evening, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday.

The Towns of Perinton, East Rochester and Pittsford have established a shelter that opens at 6:00 pm tonight and will be open 24/7 until 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 12th. The Shelter is at Barker Road Middle School, 75 Barker Road, in Pittsford. Cots are available for sleeping; visitors should bring their own bedding, pillow, etc. Warm drinks, Wi-Fi and charging stations for mobile phones will be available. Pets will not be admitted. The Town/Village of East Rochester will conference call again tomorrow at 3:30 for additional updates.
