Enhanced Star and Senior Citizen renewal applications are due in the Assessor’s Office by March 1st, 2013 to continue to receive your exemption.

 

 

The Assessor is the appointed assessment official who estimates the value of real property within the Town of East Rochester. The Assessor's office is open daily Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  In addition, he sees residents by appointment.

The Assessor maintains the Town's assessment roll, which lists assessments and exemptions. The Assessor approves and monitors property tax exemptions, including senior citizens exemptions, school tax relief exemptions (STAR), veterans, disability and business exemptions.

The Assessor reviews every transfer of real property for accuracy, including the basic information on buyer, seller, and sale price. Properties are reviewed annually for changes, including permits for new construction, demolition, change of use, and market conditions.

Nick Morabito has been the sole appointed assessor in East Rochester since October 1988. He is a New York State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and a licensed Real Estate Broker & Realtor. Nick holds the following professional designations - Professional Assessor and Member of the Institute of Assessing Officers since 1989, and State Certified Professional Assessor since 1990.

 

Under New York State law (RPTL 305) - all properties in East Rochester are required to be assessed at a uniform percentage of market value each year by our Assessor.
