The Monroe County Executive, Adam Bello, has issued a COVID-19 Information Sheet which provides helpful information for all residents of Monroe County. You are invited to access this document here.

Hi, I am John R. Alfieri, Mayor of the Town/Village of East Rochester.  I have created a personal video for the residents of East Rochester and invite you to access it here: https://videoplayer.telvue.com/player/FcqTL0OYMCGU6WlccUApyUL3twz4dm9V/playlists/7042/media/550703?sequenceNumber=21&autostart=true&showtabssearch=true

I want to continue to provide our residents and business owners with updates on what East Rochester is doing to assist in this time of growing uncertainty.

As we stated just last week we have been actively participating with County Executive Adam Bello and his team which includes Monroe County Commissioner of Public Health, Dr. Michael Mendoza on all municipal conference calls. This will continue daily as needed.

First let me say thank you.

I am happy to report that, as a community, East Rochester has truly listened and followed the guidelines received from Federal, State and County government leaders and for that we are grateful.

To be very transparent, I did declare a state of emergency on March 17, 2020, and would like to remind everyone of the previous executive orders that went into effect last Monday as well as some new ones:
•    The East Rochester Public Library, Jean Daniel Senior Center, Youth Activity Center, Town Court, Office of Local          History and Mobile DMV are all closed until further notice.  The Eyer Building is closed to the general public.
•    Public Access to the Department of Public Works grounds is prohibited until further notice.
•    The Community Resource Center located at 333 E. Chestnut Street has expanded there hours. They will be               open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and will be available after hours by appointment only.
•    The Public Restrooms at Edmund Lyon & Eyer Park have officially closed to protect the community and our                Town/Village DPW staff.

The East Rochester Police Department will remain open. For those in need of Police assistance please call 911 or (585)-586-4399.

Effective today, Governor Cuomo’s Executive Orders have directed all New York State residents to take a 100% pause and that is what I would like to remind all East Rochester residents. What does that mean for each of you?
Only those essential employees that need to be at work or out in the community can and all others need to stay at home. This is to flatten the curve and slow down the spread of the virus.

We want to protect our residents and our staff so we have taken measures to provide that services will remain uninterrupted.

The Police Department, the Fire Department and the Public Works Departments are working but all facilities are restricted from Public Access. Our DPW has separated into two teams that work on a rotating basis, one week on and one week off. This assures that essential services of public sanitation will be provided without interruption.
•    Due to this the April 2020 Scheduled Bulk Week 4/13- 4/17 is cancelled.

These changes continue to be out of an abundance of caution for our families, businesses and visitors. Please restrict your travel to the need for food, gas and medicine and use social distancing whenever possible. Keep children occupied and out of public places without adult supervision.

We are evaluating this situation on a day-to-day basis and all plans continue to be subject to change at a moment’s notice. Please continue to visit www.eastrochester.org and watch the news for additional updates as they become available.

Thank you and God Bless.

All prior announcements pretaining to the Covid-19 virus have been moved to a sub-page for the ease of reading on the Home page. You may access this information here.

Announcement: March 13, 2020  The Monroe County Mobile DMV unit will be suspended for two weeks and will NOT be in East Rochester on March 18th or March 25th.

To help promote safe practices of social distancing, we encourage residents who may need to visit a DMV to take advantage of our online appointment system and avoid waiting in longer lines: https://monroedmv.setmore.com/.

Anyone needing DMV services will be able to access all four of our branch locations (Rochester, Henrietta, Greece and Irondequoit) during this time. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to support the overall health of our customers and staff.
